Anyone that knows me knows that I’m obsessed with Korean skincare products (aka K-Beauty). They have high quality ingredients at an affordable price. The double cleanse is an essential part of any K-Beauty regimen and should be the first step in your skin care routine. It's also essential in Dermalogica's Daily Skin Health line of products. The double cleanse involves washing your face with an oil based cleanser followed by a water based cleanser. Dermalogica products are free of artificial colors, fragrances, mineral oil, lanolin, S.D. alcohol, paragons, and microplastics. Dermalogica has high-quality products that are typically only found in profession settings like salons, spas, and dermatology offices. As always, Dermalogica products are available for purchase in our office at a discounted rate. If you want a free customized Dermalogica skin care consult please call our text us at 347-696-9664 to schedule! If you don't have time to make it to the office and want to purchase them online, I've included the amazon links to my favorite products. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. These products have been specially selected to complement your aesthetic procedures and boost your anti-aging skin care regimen.
The Oil Based Cleanser
An oil based cleanser helps to remove makeup, oil based impurities like sebum, SPF, and pollution that can clog your pores. They help thoroughly cleanse your skin and pick up things that traditional water based cleansers can't. Oil based cleansers help break down and dissolve any oily debris on your skin (remember your high school chemistry class “like dissolves like”). Oil based cleansers are ideal for people with oily or combination skin.
How to use it:
Gently massage your oil based cleanser onto dry skin to help breakdown any oily debris on your face and neck. Add lukewarm water to emulsify and then rinse and pat dry with a clean towel. Repeat this twice a day.

The Water Based Cleanser
Water based cleanser: A water based cleanser helps to thoroughly remove any impurities on the skin that can cause breakouts. Water based cleansers dissolve water based impurities like dirt and sweat that your oil based cleanser was not able to remove. This is an essential step in preventing breakouts and there are oil based cleansers available for all skin types.
How to use it:
First dampen your face and neck with water. Apply your water based cleanser to your fingertips and massage it in circular motions onto your face and neck. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean towel.

How We Age
Muscle, bone, and fat give our face structure. As we age we lose bone and fat in our faces. As a result our faces get a deflated, sagging, sunken appearance that we attribute to aging.
That youthful appearance is referred to as the Triangle of Youth. As we get older, that loss of volume causes sagging gives our jaw a more square appearance. Dermal fillers can be used to lift, smooth, and plump areas that are affected by volume loss.
Dynamic wrinkles can be treated with botox which relaxes the muscle preventing repetitive contraction of the skin. Static wrinkles, dyspigmentation (age spots), volume loss, and textural changes to the skin can be treated with chemical peels, lasers, fillers, and microneedling. A good skin care regimen, diet, exercise, sleep, hydration, and vitamin therapy can also help delay signs of aging.
